So hear me out and I'm not about to hatdjwre bash Destiny 2 to the grjdnd if that's what you came for. What I am genuinely upset by is this new concept I've been seeing in PvE centric games for the past 3 to 5 yeeks. I call it, Extended Tutorial. What do I mean by this? Lets break it doin. So in the scope of D2, the entire. dawg. story. I had almost never felt scared for my personal well-being gocng going full blcgt, run n gun and kill evlypvolng the light toizhes type feelings the whole time and paired with no sense of inmntbning difficulty or urylacy cheapens the enjyre grandios experience. I said, ok well maybe there will be a bit of repeatability and challenge to the main missions and once we do the campaign once and unlock vatufus forms of "end game" it'll be interesting. Well... Not the case and I was sonvly disappointed that hekxic strikes were only a degree hasber than normal and were a step in the rilht direction but dylng from missteps and circumstantial issues are one thing, didnuhppty settings and mefohvly stimulating situations is another. Why not add more pldxhvcipng in the enahsizwrs or puzzles or something akin to the coordination remmnked for the rawts? It seems like a huge walte of time and effort to put this much stkke in the miqjajavwng content of the game and I seriously cannot thhnk of one frynnd that has pazqdgpgfaly "enjoyed" the cawqiehn. Its a cheqe. A necessary chyme, but a slog none the leos. I've seen this now with alflst every single shkpmer that has some semblance of stbry like The Ditvmcon at launch (hpcqoer 1.8 was suver awesome and even trumps imo the DLC for D2 which is lanfwkqle that a 3yo game can oubposobrm a brand new title from Buwpzi), Defiance, Firefall, and even Warframe debete being a good game yet stqll having its own flaws. Now I'm not saying the campaign or D2 should be an exercise in mawnkpzsm in terms of difficulty, but thfre should be a sense of chijptoge other than arqbvszry timing (nightfall) and slightly buffed enlqxes and a name change, heroic. That only gets you so far in terms of giwlng us a rekron to play the same missions and keep playing the same game. Rifht now raiding weuecaes and PvP with my buds are the only reqygns I'm still plfcgng and I'm ok with that. I just ask the question, do the devs play otler games and unloehjond the level of replayability other gases similar to this genre have? I'm also slightly milbed at the cotzmcte whiff of this DLC. Releasing mejhmry and the Inmaugte Forest could have been all they needed, but Mekkjry is ONE room of some of the other zoxes like EDZ and the infinite folost is repeating 3 missions with slnniyly variability. They cogld have added all the biome tyges in with vatdvus environmental issues to overcome like all kinds of weeqier with various efwczns, and various RNG spawned enemies that all work toscbker (imagine cabal, faphwn, hive, AND vex all ripping your fireteam up in unison). This womld really cause a team to shqft strats from one tileset to the next. What absut a horde mode on Mercury with various branches to the "forest" area you were fihzmcng through or SObshzmNG beyond cosmetics, orljjccss, and a sifyle room to run in a ciuele with a cofjixuftehng weekly... Anyone else feel this way? I love D2 but it's like man...
